The Matterhorn Highlights trip was my first experience with hiking over several days. We had a wonderful time filled with unforgettable images of the mountains. The people, huts and food were all great. A special thank you to our fabulous guide. We are already planning our trip next year.

It was a very good experience the guide mark was competent fit knew the trails very well and had lots of interesting information Negatives -.most of the group I was with felt it required more than ‘moderate fitness’ as described - the leader set a very fast pace and lead from the front of the group without checking throughout the hike if people were able to keep up we had to ask him the second day to slow the pace considering the height gain and terrain - one of the party suffered severe cramp and the leader had to accompany her to the end of that hike and we had to walk on without a leader perhaps a group of 14 should have had two leaders with them - the quality of breakfasts was poor- no protein fresh fruit - the accommodation was also questionable the first night there were 2 sets of bunk beds in a very small room with the shower block and toilets down a steep set of steps and across a yard - the last night was worse we were the only occupants in a cold small’hotel’ we had to ask the one person available to light a fire as it was cold and raining outside - we then had to go out and gather logs to keep it going as that was the only form of heat. - we had lunch that day at 1 and dinner wasn’t till 7/7.30 and there were no snacks or other food available to buy we had to ask the chef if he woman’s us something that cost €60 - the evening meal was cold and had to be sent back to be re -heated - the accommodation was in a cold room with graffiti on the underside of the bunk beds again breakfast was inadequate for a day of hiking - cornflakes bread lukewarm tea/ coffee -overall it was overpriced for the accommodation and food provided The group dynamic was very good and the scenery and experience was unforgettable but in general we were all in agreement regarding the negative points I mentioned

The Swiss Alps are beautiful and the trip brought it to life going up mountains, through valleys, past lakes and of course, with great views of the Matterhorn. Katie and her partner were excellent guides, very knowledgeable, patient and caring. Adjusting to changes in routes and weather. The lodges are all well equipped and even though shared facilities, comfortable - and with good food! We had a change to the itinerary due to a landslide an year ago (and so not recent) which meant that Day 2 saw us going all the way down the mountain and taking a taxi to the next lodge - would have been good to know in advance. Despite that I enjoyed the trip, the mountains, and our fellow travelers!

Exceptional trip supported by an exceptional guide. My wife Vinita and I have been on tour du Mont Blanc a couple of years ago where Charles led the group. We really enjoyed that trip and requested if we could have the same guide Charles this time. His deep knowledge of the mountains, expertise in hiking and his ability to help us connect with nature, made for a very memorable 4 days in Matterhorn

Had a great experience. Mark (our guide) took great care of us & was extremely knowledgeable on the area. Accommodation was as expected but always clean with friendly helpful staff in all. It’s not an easy trip but I’d definitely recommend it.
