This is a big day, so we make an early start. We begin by passing the biggest alpine cow pasture in Europe before dropping down to Deborance, where we can grab a coffee.
You'll follow the river up to the pastures of Pro Flour. Perhaps stopping for refreshments at Dorboron Refuge. We'll pass Lake Forclaz and cross the boulder fields before our final climb to our accommodation in the remote Cabane Rambert and their herd of Bouquetin. This hut has some of the best views to be had, with the Matterhorn, Dent Blanche, Grand Combin and Mont Blanc all visible.
Expect to walk on some snow. We also pass a lake, but I doubt anyone is brave enough to swim in this one!
